Okay, I doubt this will get a lot of attention, but just in case...

I've always wanted to make a stamp. >_> Secret desire of mine!

Anyway, I was a little bit inspired by Genshiken, and wanted to make another "otaku pride" stamp for DA (because... I can. And there aren't enough that say something besides "otaku pride" etc. Not that there's a problem with that, I'm about to add two of them to my stamp wall.)

As for what it says... yeah, so what if I'm an otaku? This morning I was thinking... what would my life be like if I wasn't? Boring as hell, I think. Otaku is just what I am, and I'm happy with that, even if otaku are looked down upon.

You might tell me "well, in Japan, otaku is an insult". Maybe so. I don't really care--it's kind of an insult here too.

So, you know, even if I'm an otaku, I don't care, at least I'm doing what I love.

There are a lot of people that are too embarrassed to admit they are otaku [or any number of other things, this applies to so many groups], and they forfeit doing things they love in an attempt to appear 'normal'. I don't think I should have to change who I am to 'fit in' and be 'accepted'. There are a lot of 'normal' hobbies I can't understand and I have no interest in. They're just as foreign to me as my hobbies are to the people who have them.

People should do what they love, regardless of what others think. That's why I made this stamp.

I'm happy to be an otaku, and if you are too, feel free to use this stamp.

I'd appreciate a comment or something if you do use it--don't feel the need to fav it if you like it--I don't really want it affecting my favs too much. If you REALLY like it for some reason though, go right ahead.
